Worlds of Fun
Home of the smoothest roller coaster and also home of the roughest roller coaster.
Rating:
4 frosty beers from the cooler. This is a nice little family friendly park. It is definitely a better experience during the special events like the Halloween Haunt.
If you have ever wondered to yourself, "Why do hillbillies have so many missing teeth?". Now we have the answer! Clearly they have been to Worlds of fun and were adventurous enough to ride the "Timber Wolf" - a roller coaster named after an asthmatic old wolf with rickety arthritic joints. Wow it was rough!
And then there was the "Patriot". Easily the smoothest roller coaster we have ever been on, and that is saying a lot because Barbra Jean Jo Barbara and Randy Randerson have been known to frequent amusement parks and ride ALL of the rides.
Overall this park is great. It was small enough to get around in a day, small enough crowds that you can get all the rides in and very clean and friendly (as all midwesterners are).
They have a lot of food options and the style varies in the different parts of the park. You can get anything from burgers and fries to a steak depending on where you are.
This really is a great amusement park in Kansas City. You should check it out. There are longer lines on busy days, and Halloween Haunt can be especially busy for the haunted houses, but you can still see it all in a day.
We were there in October for the Halloween Haunt and Winterfest and they had the park fully decorated for the season - a great day.
Tip:
RVers, the gate is not well marked and your rig will only fit in the FAR RIGHT LANE. Prepare for it, it is 8 lanes wide and when you realize that you have to cross 8 lanes to get to your gate, it will be too late.
Price:
Daily admission is around $40 alone and around $70 with a fast pass.
Parking was $20
Food can get expensive fast.
