The best fudge comes from Uranus (Missouri)

Uranus, Missouri and the Uranus Fudge Factory and General Store

If you think that seven delightfully “punny” road signs are going to make us stop and add an hour to an already long drive – then you know us!

More fun than a tooth counting contest at Walmart!

“Deep in the crack of America’s heartland” along Interstate 44 in the middle of nowhere, you will find the “Uranus Fudge Factory and General Store” in Uranus, Missouri.

Rating:

3 cold beers you found in the back of your fridge. Not what you were looking for in there, but glad to see them just the same.

This roadside attraction is perfect to stop, stretch your legs, pick up some snacks, and an irreverent t-shirt. The kids (of all ages) will get a kick out of the puns that the very friendly staff throws their way.

The General Store features Uranus souvenirs filled with puns, Route 66 memorabilia, saltwater taffy, candy, drinks, and more. But the main draw is their fudge that comes in numerous flavors like blueberry cheesecake, vanilla, peanut butter, mint, M&M, and traditional chocolate. The staff is ready, willing, and able to pack your fudge and get you back on the road! “The Best Fudge comes from Uranus.”

There is more to the place than a quirky gift shop, Uranus is filled with big things. The world’s largest belt buckle, dinosaurs, an antique firetruck, a double decker bus from London, the “Uranus Zoological Park” photo op. (Randy’s favorite part of Uranus), sideshow museum with unique (if not unsettling) exhibits, a tattoo parlor, and a mini golf course. There is also a small food shack that even serves ice cream.

There is a critter that lives in Uranus – an adorable kitty. According to the signs on site “This is Johnson…Johnson loves to be stroked and petted. Everyone loves Johnson in Uranus!”

Uranus Fudge Factory and General Store

Address: 14400 State Hwy Z, St Robert, MO 65584

Hours: 8am-9pm daily

Cost: Free to see, fudge and souvenir costs vary. Sideshow Museum is $6

Tip: Bring dollar bill singles – there are several animatronics that require single dollar bills to animate.

Parking: We went on a random Sunday and the parking lot was surprisingly packed but large enough to fit a large RV, there is even a spill over lot across the street if you are leery of parking in the main lot with a longer rig.
