Anchor Down RV Park

A wonderful location in the heart of TN. (This has been the best RV Park to date)

Rating:

A full six-pack served by a Hooters waitress! This is what RV parks want to be when they grow up.

Anchor Down RV Resort in Tennessee is the prettiest RV resort we've stayed at so far. The rules are pretty stringent but with good reason. The grounds are pristine and this place is breathtaking with the mountain and lake-view combined. We got there before the summer season but are pretty sure this place is packed at high season.

We had an upper terrace lot, but had a gorgeous view with a fireplace and picnic table where we could sit in front of the fire while looking out over the lake. We took the bikes around the property and could't find a bad lot on the site.

The owner of the park rides a golf cart around, delivering firewood, fixing items, cleaning up sites, and does daily trash pickup just like he's another employee. And unless somebody tells you who he is, you'll never know. He made sure that EVERYTHING was perfect for our stay.

We love this place, but don't bring your "RV Jealously" because most of the rigs you'll see are all upscale, from $400K motorhomes to multi million dollar Prevost Coaches. And not just a few of them, they are wall to wall! This isn't a place for below average or dirty campers, they put a lot of time and effort to keep it flawlessly clean and to keep it as a resort, not a campground. They keep the riff-raff out and they keep it classy. All mustaches were trimmed and groomed special for this place.

I promise you, you'll love the experience of Anchor Down, there is no other place like it.

Tips:

Bring jack-stand pads for your RV. We used squares of linoleum tile. They require them for their concrete pads and it might not be something you normally pack.

One more tip: Book wayyyy in advance, this place stays full.

Price:

This changes with the seasons and there are minimum duration stays for the lake-side lots.
